Look Outside is a story based rpg-horror game by developer Francis Coulombe.
Many players are deeply enjoying the ambiance, with the average gamer playing it for around ten hours.
Devolver helped with all the marketing, and it's doing fairly well.
An inside source said the game is on track to sell close to 200,000 copies.
That's not bad for a small indie title, especially for the genre.
Gameplay is set in a an old spooky four-story apartment building.
The rooms feel similar to another Devolver title known for carnage in Miami.
The player character named Sam must survive by managing resources and sometimes fighting a monster.
The challenge told to him by some creepy neighbors is to stay in his apartment for fifteen days, and don't look out that window.
There are all these spooky clues that indicate you'll be transformed if you do.
The character Sam needs food, supplies, and weapons to survive for a couple weeks.
Therefore you must scavenge the apartment building.
In between trying to survive, you need to think about Sam's hygiene and personal entertainment.
With some of the characters, you can barter junk for your necessities and even cash.
You'll need to carefully manage resources to stay alive.
If you're a fan of horror games, Look Outside will likely appeal to you.
The difficulty level is medium-hard. Some gamers found it very challenging.
The game had some themes similar to the film Beetlejuice.
Overall, the story and art came together in an interesting way.
